Whether you're interested in recreational, Sukkot, or survival tent camping, it's essential to be prepared and equipped with the right gear and knowledge. Knowing the differences between the three types of camping and being able to adapt to various situations can make all the difference.

Whatever your motivation for tent camping, taking time to properly prepare will ensure a successful experience. Here is a packing list to get you started. We will continually add helpful information to our page to assist you in properly preparing for tent camping.  Let’s Go!

CAMP GEAR/EQUIPMENT

  • Tent with extra metal stakes and rain cover

  • Multiple tarps (under the tent, additional rain covers for tent/ picnic table)

  • Mallet for tent stakes

  • Sun shade for picnic table or tarp

  • Sleeping bags

  • Sleeping pads or air mattresses

  • Battery operated pump for air mattress w/ extra batteries

  • Pillows

  • Camping chairs

  • Lanterns

  • Flashlights (one for each person and at least one extra)

COOKING/CLEANING EQUIPMENT

  • Cooler

  • Cooking stove with fuel/ propane tanks
